Dissertation Advice
- Writing begins after your first draft is complete.
- When you are in the thick of an argument, it can be difficult to see the big picture. Feel more comfortable about writing your dissertation in manageable chunks. You can synthesize them afterwards.
- You don’t need to know everything about your projects just yet. You need to know enough to get you started and the process of writing will clarify things for you.
- Be patient with yourself. Don’t sacrifice your mental health.
- Writing a dissertation would bring up several challenges add mental obstacles this is usually the more difficult to deal with than your project itself.
- I am the fulfilment of my ancestors wildest dreams. I can do this.
- The blood, sweat, tears and prayers of my ancestors have accompanied me thus far. They won’t leave me now.
- Your dissertation is not going to be your masterpiece. Just get it done.
- Your PhD is your license to begin research.
- There are several voices that will haunt you and continue to do so throughout your professional career. You need to listen to those voices. Take them seriously especially the ones that bother you the most.
